ASHA’s Continuing Education: Learning Pass

During COVID-19 there are a variety of fabulous companies offering free resources. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with all the offerings. One that I wanted to make everyone aware of was the American Speech and Language Association’s Learning Pass. LEARNING PASS

Through June 30 ASHA is offering all the Continuing Education Courses free. If you are an ASHA member you have been automatically enrolled. If you have been using this service they extended your membership for three months.

This is a fabulous way to meet your requirements to maintain your certification. If you are enrolled in their CEU reporting it will record these automatically and there are certificates awarded for each course.

If you want to supervise graduate students, Clinical Fellows or be a clinical instructor you now need to take two hours of clinical instruction or supervision continuing education.

I have taken one of the courses on clinical supervision that was excellent, Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies for Supervision. This was a taping of a lecture at a conference. It came with a workbook and it was interesting to hear the exchanges between the speaker and the audience.

All therapists also need to take a course on Ethics. I took this course: Ethically and Legally Defensible Speech-Language Services in Public Schools and the speakers were excellent. They gave real cases that assisted in solidifying some of the topics they covered.

Two other courses that I have taken, one is about teletherapy: Preparing To Offer Quality Services Through Telepractice: An Introduction (WEB19970). The other gives some great ideas about visuals and apps that therapists can use in treatment. A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words: What SLPs Can Do With Images (OnDemand Webinar) (WEB19217)

THANK-YOU ASHA!

Stay Safe, keep learning!
